The bus to Alnif made local stops along the road. Passengers clapped their hands to request a stop. Sometimes there wasn’t even any kind of piste or landmark. People just got off and walked away into the desert.

I waited in this small village for for about 45 minutes for a shared taxi. Travelling without a car lets you meet people and also get a sense of what life is like in places like this. Since transportation is uncertain, people don’t rush or have tight schedules. Or is it the other way around?
